Muslim Arabs Destroying Archeological Evidence of Jewish Presence

"Acknowledging what archeologists have been saying for months now, Antiquities Authority Director-General Shuka Dorfman confirmed yesterday that Wakf work on the Temple Mount is causing unequivocal damage to antiquities at Judaism's holiest site.

"'I am not a politician, and I do not set policy. But I can categorically state in an unequivocal manner that there is archeological damage being done to antiquities on the Temple Mount, ‘ Dorfman told the Knesset Education Committee.

"Dorfman said that archeologists from the Antiquities Authority, which by law is responsible for supervising any construction work carried out at holy sites, have not been allowed on the Mount since the outbreak of violence in late [2001.09], and have had to rely on second-hand police reports.

"'We are not supervising what is going on at the Temple Mount, period,' he said.

"'There is no argument that an archeological crime is being committed on the Temple Mount,' said committee chairman Zevulun Orlev, who warned that as things stand, ‘Israel is on the verge of losing authority over what is going on at the site.'

"Orlev said that his committee would give the new government three months time to try to formulate a new policy regarding the Wakf work. In the meantime, he said that the police, which has the authority to close the gates of the Temple Mount to the Wakf's tractors or trucks, must do so.

"The committee also proposed that the Foreign Ministry alert UNESCO of the damage being done on the Temple Mount, which the committee agreed must be opened to the media.

"Upon receiving confirmation from a police representative that the past government [Ehud Baraq; ybd] had instructed police to allow the trucks in, Education Minister Limor Livnat said that she would ‘struggle with all her might' to change this policy and would initiate a meeting with Internal Security Minister Uzi Landau and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

"'The whole world was revolted at the destruction the Taliban committed in Afghanistan, but for us is what is going on at the Temple mount no less important?' she said. ‘A nation which does not know how to value and protect its past history and existence ‐ the most basic of which is the Temple Mount – will not be able to live here in the long-term.'

"'The sad thing is that despite the public sympathy and support we are attaining, as of yesterday the Wakf work is continuing at the site,' said Hebrew University Prof. Eilat Mazar, of the Committee Against the Destruction of Antiquities on the Temple Mount, which has been leading the public battle to stop the unsupervised work…"

The PA has done the same with " Joseph's Tomb" in Arab-occupied ShᵊkhëmꞋ (Hellenized then Arabized to "Nablus"), "refurbishing" it as an Islamic mosque stripped of any Judaic connection!!! The Muslim Arabs' intent, which they achieved, was to thoroughly eliminate any physical evidence connecting Jews to our holy site – in the same way they're doing on the Temple Mount… the most brazen and blatant atrocity of the last two millennia!
